Our church was founded in 1970 by the late Reverend Pierre Ludovic St. Phard, and it is led today by Reverend Graham Exantus

OUR HISTORY

Eben-Ezer Haitian Baptist Church came to existence on a 3rd Sunday of April 1970 under the initiative of late Reverend Pierre Ludovic St. Phard. Shortly after, Reverend Ramino Olivier joined the Church and became Assistant-Pastor.

After a few years of internal and personal turbulence, Reverend St. Phard resigned from his position as Senior Pastor, and Reverend Olivier became Senior Pastor until his retirement in 2016. Under the leadership of Reverend Olivier, the Church has grown spiritually and numerically. In July 2016, as Reverend Ramino Olivier announced his retirement, he, at the same time recommended Reverend Graham Exantus as his successor.

Upon Church’s approval, Reverend Graham Exantus became the third Senior Pastor of Eben-Ezer Haitian Baptist Church since its foundation in 1970. The demographics of the church have fluctuated over the years. Members have relocated in other regions of the United States, seeking greener pastures or better opportunities, especially during the disastrous period of financial and housing crisis of the early 2000s.

The church was seriously and negatively impacted by that catastrophic period, and we are still struggling, trying to recover from that crisis. However, Eben-Ezer Haitian Baptist Church and its founding fathers remain, among others, the pioneers of the Haitian Christian Community in the region of Brooklyn, New York.
